Coastal Industrial Technologies, LLC (“Coastal,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our websites, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Analytics and marketing tools on this site do not run until you opt in — if you decline, or simply never choose, they are never loaded.
This policy covers the websites techgonecoastal.com and services.techgonecoastal.com (the “Sites”).
It does not govern your organization’s use of the Breakwater platform at breakwater.techgonecoastal.com. Data processed on your behalf within that platform — including device inventories, network telemetry, and operational records from your facilities — is governed by the service agreement between Coastal and your organization, not by this website policy.
Information you provide. When you contact us, request a quote, schedule a call, or subscribe to updates, we collect what you choose to send — typically your name, business email address, telephone number, company name, and whatever you write in the message.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting and content-delivery providers record standard server and security logs for every request, including IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring page, and browser user-agent string. These logs exist to operate the Sites, diagnose faults, and defend against attack and abuse.
Analytics information — only with your consent. If you accept cookies, our analytics provider records how the Sites are used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser characteristics, and interactions such as clicks and scroll depth.
We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, sensitive categories of personal information — government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, or similar — through the Sites.
On your first visit, no analytics or marketing scripts load. A banner asks for your choice, and nothing beyond what is strictly necessary to serve the page runs until you make one.
Your choice is stored locally in your own browser under the key coastal_consent. It is not transmitted to us, and clearing your browser storage clears it. You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page, which resets the choice and shows the banner again.
Strictly necessary technologies — those required to deliver the page, balance load, and protect against attack — operate on every visit and are not subject to consent, because the Sites cannot be served without them.
We rely on the following providers. Each processes data under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read them.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or advertising or cross-site tracking pixels on the Sites.
We use the information described above to respond to your enquiries and prepare quotes; to provide, secure, and improve the Sites; to send updates and marketing communications where you have asked to receive them; to keep business records; and to comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Where the General Data Protection Regulation or comparable law applies, we rely on: consent for analytics, marketing cookies, and marketing email; legitimate interests for operating and securing the Sites and for responding to business enquiries; performance of a contract where you are a customer or are asking us to take steps before entering into one; and legal obligation where retention or disclosure is required of us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We disclose information only to the service providers listed in Section 4, who process it on our instructions; to professional advisers such as our accountants and lawyers where necessary; to a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; and where we are required to do so by law or valid legal process, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as long as we are required to keep it. Enquiry and quote correspondence is retained for the duration of the business relationship and a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping and legal purposes. Marketing subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Server and security logs are retained on the short cycles set by our hosting and CDN providers. Analytics data is retained under our analytics provider’s standard retention settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will not charge you for a reasonable request. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message we send.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and believe we have not handled your information properly, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
Because analytics and marketing tools on the Sites load only after an explicit opt-in, a visitor who takes no action is already in the state a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal asks for. We do not otherwise respond to browser-level tracking signals, as there is no single agreed standard for them.
The Sites are served over encrypted connections and sit behind a content-delivery network that filters malicious traffic. We limit access to information to those who need it, and we select service providers who maintain recognised security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but as a company whose work is industrial cybersecurity, we hold our own systems to the standards we advise for our clients.
Coastal is based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Sites from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection law may differ from that of your own country. Where required, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
The Sites serve industrial and commercial customers and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and the version posted at this address is the one that applies. Material changes will be signalled prominently on the Sites.
